The recent First Universal Accessibility Day, held at the Congress Centre in Andorra la Vella, explored the challenges and opportunities for enhancing inclusion for people with disabilities. This event, which brought together experts and professionals from the sector, highlighted the importance of advancing accessibility not only in physical spaces but also in digital and everyday contexts that directly impact the lives of people with disabilities.
The day underscored the importance of greater social awareness and the need to promote measures that go beyond adapting physical or technological spaces, including ensuring service continuity and adapting everyday elements.
During the event, our CEO, Javier Sales, delivered an inspiring speech about ACCTUA’s work in making websites accessible for individuals with disabilities. He emphasised that digital accessibility is not just a service we provide but also a mission to foster awareness in business and government decision-making. As Javier stated in his address:
“Especially if the person who has to decide whether or not to implement this accessibility measure isn’t personally affected, it’s as if this group doesn’t exist. What we do, apart from running a business that offers an accessibility service, is plant a seed of awareness in these individuals.”
At ACCTUA, we firmly believe that technology should be an enabler for everyone. We are proud to have participated in the First Universal Accessibility Day and will continue to work tirelessly to develop solutions that make the digital world accessible to all, without exception.
